Julia's Tea Time Parties
Disney Theme Tea Party
Hello!
I am so excited to have you join me for the inaugural post of my new blog, "Julia's Tea Time Parties."
I am Julia Engelhardt (my friends and family call me Julie), and this my new venture--offering lovely, creative, as well as fun, tea parties for little (or bigger) girls!

The centerpiece I created from a used teapot
I began offering tea parties this summer as a way to reach out to my local community to create real 'social networking' for children and adults.
So many of us have turned to the Internet to create a sense of community, but I want to turn back to a time when people actually gathered together and socialized. I also want to teach young girls about the finer aspects of life, and to teach them about good manners and etiquette!
With my Tea Time Parties, I provide food, games, crafts, and a story time, with tea, of course!
Just sharing a bit: at my first party, I had eight guests, three mothers and five girls. It was great fun, because I knew three of the girls from one of the schools where I teach. I'm a substitute teacher with the Hollister School District in Hollister, California.
The little girls dressed in their finest, and we played a game called Broken Tea Pot, where I printed off pictures of tea pots, then cut them into puzzle pieces. The girls had to put the pieces back together to make the pot whole. The first one finished got to pick the first prize.
Two of my friends at the first tea party.
We also played a game called left/right. I had each girl bring a wrapped gift (something girly, of course!) I created a story about a little girl who had a tea party (I'm also a freelance writer), but inserted throughout the story, I had the words 'left' and 'right.' Everytime I said the word 'left,' the girls had to move their gift to the left one time. If I said 'right,' then they had to do the same thing. The object of the game is to end up with a prize that someone else brought. The girls had a great time!
I hope you will follow this blog to learn more about my adventures with hosting tea parties, and if you want more information, you can email me at Jengelha@aol.com. I'm based in Hollister, California, which is 45 minutes inland from Monterey, and and hour south of San Jose, California.
Happy drinking!
